A LIVING RECIPE ARCHIVE

Good recipes have a way of surviving.

They get clipped, copied, handed down, printed for fundraisers and carried from one kitchen to the next. Nostalgic Foodie brings those recipes back to the table — while preserving where they came from.

FEATURED REVIVAL

Texas Caviar

Bright, crunchy and made for a crowded table. This pantry-friendly potluck classic comes from 75 Years of Caring and Sharing, a 2006 Jersey County community cookbook.

FROM THE ARCHIVE

A cookbook is a snapshot of a community.

75 Years of Caring and Sharing preserves more than instructions. It captures what people brought to gatherings, celebrations and neighborhood tables — and gives us a source to return to recipe by recipe.

WHY NOSTALGIC FOODIE

Not just old recipes. Recipes with a past.

Nostalgic Foodie is a project to rediscover recipes that might otherwise stay closed inside old books and boxes — preserving the source, respecting the people connected to them, and finding out which ones still deserve a place on today’s table.
